Als wir im letzten Herbst in unserem #CMOBarometer Marketeers nach ihrem Ausblick auf 2024 fragten, waren viele von so viel Optimismus in deutschen Marketingabteilungen überrascht: Ein Drittel der CMOs blickte damals durchaus optimistisch auf 2024 – ganze 40 Prozent erwarteten sogar steigende Marketingbudgets.   Und auch ich bin und bleibe optimistisch für 2024 – was mich darin bestärkt: Das heute veröffentlichte Ranking der inhabergeführten Kommunikationsagenturen in Deutschland von GWA, HORIZONT und W&V, Werben & Verkaufen. Die Serviceplan Group liegt mit einem Wachstum von sechs Prozent auf Platz 1 deutlich über dem GWA-Durchschnitt von knapp 3,3 Prozent. Ein gutes Ergebnis – vor allem, weil unsere internationalen Zahlen in dem Ranking gar nicht abgebildet sind.   Für mich ist zweifellos klar: Unser #HouseOfCommunication-Konzept und das integrierte Zusammenspiel unserer Geschäftsfelder Creative & Content, Media & Data sowie Digital Experience & Technology ist DER Erfolgsfaktor. Daneben haben aber auch die Digitalisierung unserer Arbeitsprozesse über alle Agenturmarken hinweg und die Gewinnung von Neugeschäft zu dem Top-Ergebnis beigetragen.   Eine solche Platzierung ist bei weitem nicht selbstverständlich und macht mich sehr stolz. In this case, with the support of Mediaplus Group, the team put the spotlight on the US opioid crisis, and the world took notice. 855-HOW-TO-QUIT is a toll-free helpline intended to reach people in the most critical moment – when they have a pill in their hand. Each pill comes with a unique identifier imprinted, such as OP for oxycodone, IP33 for codeine, or C for fentanyl. The helpline transforms these imprint codes into phone extensions, connecting those who struggle with addiction with those who managed to quit that very pill. #BestBrandsGermany For the 21st time in a row… what a momentum. I firmly believe that our Best Brands are more relevant today than ever before. At the college in our #HouseOfCommunication this morning, we talked about the power of brand momentum, about #ArtificialIntelligence, about brand resilience and emotional brand power and we discussed where marketeers stand in the tension between multiple crises and optimism.   And what can I say, it was a glamorous evening - after an inspiring speech by fashion icon Elle Macpherson, music by Sportfreunde Stiller and our radiant Best Brands NIVEA, Dyson, Nike and L'Oréal Paris, I am still deeply impressed by the power of brands in these times.   Thank you to all our partners, guests, speakers and the fantastic team for organising and hosting this year`s Best Brands.

We don't see #ArtificialIntelligence as a threat. We see it as our mission to understand and harness this revolutionary technology as quickly as possible. Even in the age of #AI, we believe that human creativity is the most important driver of innovation. Our #ÜberCreativity concept takes this to a new level. I am therefore very proud of the 10th issue of our magazine #TWELVE, which, thanks to Hermann Vaske, pays tribute to this great human ability. Noch heute bin ich tief beeindruckt. Beeindruckt von den vielen Menschen, die in den letzten Tagen für unsere Demokratie und gegen Rechts auf die auf Straßen gegangen sind. Das ist unfassbar wichtig, denn wir müssen aufstehen und etwas tun, einen Beitrag leisten. Was wir konkret bei der Serviceplan Group tun, zeigt unsere neueste Arbeit für den Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland: #StopRepeatingStories ruft uns alle dazu auf, uns zu positionieren. Für Toleranz und Solidarität und gegen jedwede Form von Diskriminierung oder Fremdenfeindlichkeit. Denn: #niewiederistjetzt!

I am very pleased and honored that we host #DLD24 – again – in our #HouseOfCommunication. Last year’s DLD Conference was an outstanding success – especially regarding the innovative power of all the brilliant ideas and solutions which have been discussed there. Yet: Even the most beautiful location, the best experts, and the most inspiring speakers will not bring forward any innovation if one essential energy is missing. It’s the most powerful renewable energy we have. It is: Optimism. But don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean a “Everything-will-be-fine-in-the-end-optimism”. For me, optimism is the firm belief that the future is not written yet and that we always can change it for the better through our own actions. I am #FuturePositive because I believe that only the possibilities of tomorrow can solve our challenges of today – not the fears of yesterday. So, I urge all of us to be optimistic. Let’s #DareToKnow! Welcome DLD!

Ich glaube fest daran, dass #KünstlicheIntelligenz, wenn sie richtig eingesetzt wird, unseren Arbeitsalltag erleichtern, Lösungen für komplexe Fragestellungen bieten und Innovationen auf ein neues Level heben wird. Denn #KI bietet die große Chance, Werbung schlanker und effizienter – und zugleich kreativer und personalisierter zu machen. Ich bin überzeugt, dass KI uns helfen wird, besser zu werden. Und gerade als Agentur sollten wir großen Veränderungen neugierig gegenüberstehen und als Impulsgeber für die Branche und unsere Kunden agieren. What will be the defining trend in marketing in 2024? I'm very proud that the results of this year’s #CMOBarometer are in and providing us with key insights into the marketing trends of 2024. Together with our new partner Universität St.Gallen (HSG) we have asked the opinion of around 800 CMOs from around the world. My key takeaways: 📌 #ArtificialIntelligence, #EmotionalBranding and #ContentCreation will dominate the agenda for CMOs in 2024. 📌 Despite a focus on tech, belief in emotionally resonant brands remains strong. Successful marketing in 2024 will merge artificial with emotional intelligence. 📌 CMOs will tackle significant challenges simultaneously, which require superhero-like skills: openness to trends and ideas, interconnected thinking and agility. Although the results of this year’s CMO Barometer still show caution when it comes to the economic situation and investments, the trend is clearly pointing to optimism. That gives me confidence that we will face these challenges together and grow with them. Also, great that marketing has an exciting new tool: if used correctly, #AI can make our daily work easier, provide solutions to complex problems and take innovation to a whole new level. 2024 – we are ready! Ein rein durch #KI-generiertes Stück live vorgetragen im #HouseOfCommunication!   Was die Münchner Symphoniker e.V. uns heute beim #InnoDay23 gezeigt haben: KI ist nicht nur in unserer Marketing-, Media- und Technologiewelt schon längst angekommen, sondern auch in der Musik.   Ich bin der Überzeugung, dass wir uns dank KI in der dritten Jahrhundertrevolution befinden. Denn KI erweitert unseren Horizont. Und genau das wollten wir mit unserem Innovation Day unter dem Motto #ExpandingHorizons heute zeigen.
