One of the most special cars to have hit the world in the recent years is currently preparing to... hit the world. We are talking about James Glickenhaus’ Ferrari P4/5 Competizione, a vehicle that is being createt as an endurance racing animal.

Glickenhaus has taken the time to upload an enormous image gallery of the vehicle’s build process on Facebook. The images, which contain carbon fiber in excess, show us just how far the racer has come from its F430 GT2 base.

The vehicle, which is being prepared to tackle the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, now shows a completed carbon fiber body, allowing us to feast our eyes. In an effort to fist the competition’s eyes, the team behind the project has also made progress with the mechanical bits of the monster. Judging by the images, the car wil offer the promised perfect mix between looks and aerodynamic efficiency.

We’ll remind you that the P4/5 Competitzione borrows the suspension and the V8 engine from the F430 GT2 ALMS racer. The powerplant we are talking about uses a 90 degree angle between the cylinder banks and comes with four valves per cylinder, allowing the driver to take advantage of 483 hp. As for the suspension, this uses a double wishbone setup for the front axle and central wheel mounts for the rear one.

The beast will also be a master of stopping power, as it uses the F430 GT2’s Brembo steel brakes: 380x32mm rotors with six piston calipers at the front and 332x32 mm rotors with four-piston calipers at the rear.
