What could be better than visiting or revisiting the tourist attractions of our region? You will certainly agree that a tour of the Gaspé Peninsula by car is a must for a perfect vacation! On your way to the Gaspé Peninsula, here are 6 ideas of activities that will brighten up your itinerary. Have a good drive!

Day 1

On your way to the Gaspé Peninsula, stop in Berthier-sur-Mer and board the Vent des Îles for a cruise and visit of Grosse-Île. You will discover the old quarantine station that welcomed irish immigrants from 1832 to 1937. The scenery to get there is simply magnificent!

Day 2

Go to the historical site of Pointe-au-Père, a few minutes from Rimouski, and visit the Empress of Ireland museum which will make you discover the history of this liner which ran aground off Pointe-au-Père in 1914. Take advantage of the four zones of this exhibition to fully immerse yourself in this historic shipwreck: the wreck of the Empress of Ireland, the memory of the passengers, the shipwreck and the ship. Also on the Pointe-au-Père historic site, climb aboard the Onondaga submarine where a virtual tour will take you back to the daily life of the men who boarded this submarine from 1967 to 2000.

Day 3

End your stay in Rimouski by visiting the Jardins de Métis located 30 minutes from Mont-Joli. This horticultural destination will surely amaze you! Then, continue your journey with Cap-Chat and make a pit stop to rest on the shore of the St. Lawrence River. Cap-Chat is the perfect place to spend the evening by the water and admire the sunset!

Day 4

Continue on your way and take routes 198 and 132 to Percé. Upon arrival at the peninsula, head straight to the huge suspended glass platform of the Percé UNESCO World Geopark. For this activity, bring shoes, a water bottle and a snack since it takes 30 to 45 minutes to get to the platform. Don't worry, the effort is worth it! Once you reach the top, all you have to do is enjoy the breathtaking view of Percé Rock and the magnificent St. Lawrence gulf!

Day 5

After four busy days, it's time to rest! Relax and recharge by taking a walk through the charming village of Percé. What could be better than a moment of rejuvenation in an enchanting setting!
