Review of X WING fighter.
This particular X Wing fighter is very large. Roughly 1/18 scale. The only operating feature is the nose gear can be positioned up or down. Aside from that, there are no other operating features. There are a total of 8 insignia/stickers that you must place on the X Wing. Assembly takes between 10 and 15 minutes. I highly recommend adults do this so that it is done correctly and by the enclosed instructions. The box presentation is nice. Price? Expect to pay between $20.00 to $50.00 dollars. Not including shipping if you order on line. Now the cons to this are: 1).No rear landing gear 2).No operating canopy 3).No operating S Foils or X Wing 4).No lights or electronics of any kind Now the pros to this are: 1).Large 1/18 scale. They had theirs marked at $44.99. I looked on line. K Mart had theirs on line for $19.99 dollars. Because of Toys R Us's policy on price matching, they so,d the X Wing to me for the price of $19.99 plus sales tax. So, shop around before buying this particular X Wing. Be advised that there is an electronic version of this X Wing fighter. The box is wider. The price is at or higher than the non electronic version. The electronic version has R2D2 in his recessed port. You push on him and the sounds come out. He apparently lights up as wel Both X Wings are good decent products, but once again, shop around. Look for free shipping and decide electronic or non electronic.

Average display piece, find one on clearance
If you have seen one of these on store shelves, then you know by now that the wings do not open and close. This is one of the coolest features of the X-wing! So if you can find one on clearance---I found a couple for $9.98 each at Toys'R'Us---then grab it for an OK display piece. Recreate the Yavin Rebel base hangar scene featuring "parked" X-wings, or pretend Luke is flying it to Dagobah (The Empire Strikes Back). Despite its size, it is lightweight enough for the kiddies to fly it around the house, but again, not much play value outside of that. The cockpit hatch does not open, and the R2 unit is non-removable once assembled (it's actually just the top part of the droid).If you have seen one of these on store shelves, then you know by now that the wings do not open and close. Super-sized X-wing
The sheer size of the Hero X-Wing as a display, more than makes up for lack of fine details, every eye is drawn to it. If I were still ten years old, it would be hanging over my bed.

Cool idea, needed the extra step
I like both the x-wing and falcon. Just wish they took the extra step of adding the lights and sounds, add the extras, like legacy series did. I would have been more than willing to pay the extra price for it. Love the concept here, just wish they would have taken those extra steps. Would have made this the supreme edition of classic Star Wars vehicles. Thank you
