You, the wildly talked about thriller series now streaming on Netflix, has gained a lot of new fans in recent weeks. After originally airing on Lifetime back in September, the show was picked up by the streaming service and became available on December 26. Two weeks later, everyone is still talking about it.
A lot of the buzz that continues to surround the series comes from lead Penn Badgley's character, Joe Goldberg, a beguiling, unassuming manager at a New York City bookstore...who also happens to be a stalker/kidnapper/serial killer, and becomes obsessed with a young writer called Beck (Elizabeth Lail).
Despite Badgley's character being a horrible human being, some viewers have found themselves romanticizing Joe Goldberg's problematic behavior and murderous tendencies. Badgley has been busy setting the record straight on Twitter, reminding fans of the show that loving or sympathizing with Joe is not okay.
Badgley also used the social platform to confirm that there will be a second season of You—which was based on a novel by Caroline Kepnes—and the actor joked that he would use Joe sympathizers as his motivation.
