You should already own 'Ladyland': it's Hendrix's best studio album, the one which hinted most aromatically at riches yet to come.
If you don't, go out now and buy this collector's edition. And even if you do, you ought to be interested in it because it comes with a DVD all about the making of the album, hosted by engineer Eddie Kramer and enlisting the reflections of relevant alumni (chiefly Messrs Mitchell and Redding). It's a standardised format, but when the basic material is this good, it works.
