LATET (Hebrew for "to give"), founded in 1996, is one of the largest Israeli humanitarian aid organizations combating poverty and food insecurity in Israel. Acting as an umbrella organization for 180 local NGOs in 115 communities across Israel, Latet operates as a national food bank and provides for the basic needs of populations in all sectors of society, on an equal basis. Latet gives ongoing food assistance to over 200,000 children, families, elderly and Holocaust survivors in Israel. With over 19,000 Israeli volunteers joining Latet's aid programs and activities each year, Latet aims to mobilize Israeli civil society toward greater involvement in the humanitarian field, through heightened social awareness.
Latet is a non-governmental, a-political, non-profit organization.
