Over the course of time Lorenz Spring became a master of composition and colors with a distinctive style. At first sight, his works seem to be “only” cheerful and colorful, but by having a closer look, a more serious content can be seen. He often works with series, which circle around one topic with different techniques. For instance the question of “becoming and decay” is again and again treated in symbolical ways. Spring takes his archetypes from comic art or pop art. He applies the paint in an expressive way – most of the times using mixing technique. After a longer break, works by Lorenz Spring are again on display. For the exhibition “Spring in Winter” he created new groups of works – which are presented together with paintings of the last years.
