Gokyo Valley

Gokyo valley is located in the world highest Mount Everest region in Nepal. There are beautiful monasteries along the trek and the region is culturally rich in Buddhism.

You can see a Yeti’s Skull in the Khumjung monastery. It is the region where the world strongest people are living, known as Sherpa. Gokyo Lakes are beautiful and the most attraction of the valley when you see mountains across those lakes. It is spectacular climbs almost as high as Everest Base Camp Trek and offers similar Everest view. The trails are different and less crowded than Everest Base Camp Trek. You can also combine Everest Base Camp by crossing Cho La pass (5420m). The viewpoint from Gokyo Ri (5360m) offers the more magnificent view over the world highest Mountain Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu.  The largest Glacier of Nepal Himalaya called Ngozumpa Glacier (36km). It lies just beside the lakes in the valley and the source of Glacier just below the world sixth highest mount Cho Oyu. You can hike along the north valley for more sacred Gokyo Lakes and reach near Mt Cho Oyu.

The trip starts from Kathmandu by taking a scenic and adventurous flight to Lukla about 30 minutes.
