Description Product specifications

The Sentry range provides automatic, current limited and power supply: S7100 S7120
thyristor controlled charging of vented lead acid or NiCd supply voltage, 110/120 V units: 104 – 127 V ac
batteries. The units may be used in a wide range of 220/240 V units: 207 – 254 V ac
industrial charging applications, including standby operating frequency 50 / 60 Hz
engines, pumps and generators. DC charge output:
The charger uses an open frame construction, designed for maximum power output, W 100 120
surface mounting in an enclosed panel. Each unit consists
nominal voltage, V 12 24
of a transformer, rectifier and control circuit. The control
circuit ensures that the charger maintains a battery voltage maximum current limit, A 5 3 5
at the pre-calibrated float level, whilst supplying any float / boost voltages see separate table
additional loads current up to the specified maximum. fault output:
When used as a float charger the unit is designed to give charge fail alarm (‘A’ option only) SPDT (volt-free/dry) relay contacts,
a constant current output while battery voltage is below a de-energised on fault, rated 1A max.
‘knee point’ (approx. 13V on a 12V LA). Above the knee- @ 30 VDC (resistive load)
point, as the battery approaches it’s float voltage, the general:
Sentry output current ramps down. This multi-stage charge operating temperature -10 to +55°C
regime gives an optimum combination of fast charge rate, dimensions see separate diagram/table

weight 1.8 kg / 4.0 lb 2.6 kg /
Auto Boost 5.8 lb
All Sentry 7 units include an Auto boost feature. Auto boost EMC emission / immunity EN50081-2 / EN50082-2
provides a temporary increase in output voltage, equalising
the charge between cells and maximising battery life and
capacity.

Notes:
1) battery output is isolated from chassis.
2) chassis earth stud must be connected AC supply earth.
