John Morrison would love his wife to join him in WWE, talks Jeff Hardy’s return and Velveteen Dream has bright future

WWE star John Morrison has admitted that he would love for his wife Taya Valkyrie to join him in wrestling under Vince McMahon.

The 40-year-old was on the same roster as his other half at Impact Wrestling before he made his return to SmackDown last year.

The pair tied the knot back in 2018 in a ceremony that featured the likes of Diamond Dallas Page, the Miz, Zack Ryder and Dolph Ziggler.

After Morrison's WWE return, a number of female stars including Paige and Chelsea Green made public calls for wife Taya, who became the longest-reigning Impact Knockouts Champion ever last year, to follow him.

And in an exclusive interview with SunSport, The Prince of Parkour - real name John Randall Hennigan - is just as excited by the prospect.

He said: “Yeah it’s kinda funny, people ask her that sometimes, would she like to work at WWE, and yeah of course I would.

“We’ve worked together at some many other places, Lucha Undergound, Impact...she’s my favourite human which is why I married her.

“So if she was working for the company it would be great to have that together, experience this company and this part of our lives together.”

Taya actually signed a WWE Developmental deal back in 2011 but left the company without wrestling a single televised match for the company.

Her husband meanwhile made his main roster debut in 2005 and enjoyed numerous title reigns, including three with the Intercontinental belt and holding Tag Team gold with The Miz.

After reuniting with the Awesome One upon his WWE return, another man Morrison is hoping to get back in the ring with is Jeff Hardy.

The two enjoyed a memorable rivalry during his first stint with the company, but the Enigma has been sidelined through injury since April.

Morrison added:  "I'd love to (face Jeff). Both Jeff and Matt, I've always been a big fan of both those guys and they're pioneers in the tag-team division, so yeah absolutely.

The man formerly known as Johnny Nitro is also excited about facing off with some of the stars from NXT, which didn't exist in its current form at the time he left WWE in 2011.

On who he wants to face, Morrison joked: "Nah those guys suck! Sorry just kidding, legitimately it's hard to pick a breakout star from NXT because that roster is so stacked.

"The Undisputed Era, Keith Lee...it's almost hard to call Keith Lee the next breakout star because he's almost a regular star, he's doing so much cool stuff down there.

"Velveteen Dream I think has a real bright future. Pete Dunne, WALTER, Matt Riddle, Killer Cross has just started but I've always seen big things for him in this business."
