The crag is divided in two parts, separated by the "king line" of the crag, "Schiffsbug". The routes on the left are around grade 6, whereas the routes on the right are around grade 7. Be careful about loose rock in most of the routes.

In Egloffstein, drive up towards Egloffsteinerhüll and turn right at the sign leading towards the castle (Egilolfstraße). There's a parking lot after a slight left turn.
Continue on Egilolfstraße and turn left between houses 74 and 75. Follow this path for 1.2 km and turn right towards a deer stand with a red roof. Behind the stand, a broad path leads downhill. Follow it for about 200 meters; the crag will be on your left (no path for the last few meters).

- The limestone is soft – please clean your shoes from dirt in order to avoid polished handholds and steps.
- Don't toprope directly through bolts – use your own material.
- Clean chalk and tickmarks with a brush.
- Don't leave toilet paper.
- Pick up rubbish.
- No unnecessary noise.
- No camp fire and bivvy.
- Park considerately (tractor should be able to pass also at the weekend).
- Smoking in the forests is forbidden from March 1 until October 31 by law.
- No publishing of boulder blocks.
