In September 2013, archaeologists found a Tang tomb in the north of Dengcun, Beidu Town, Licheng District, Xianyang City, and judged that the owner of the tomb was a famous female politician of the Tang Dynasty. On September 11, 2013, archaeologists said the tomb was subjected to large-scale, organized destruction, most likely an “official destruction of the tomb.” On January 7, 2014, the latest issue of the journal Archaeology and Cultural Relics published the full text of the epitaph of Shang Guan Waner, a famous Tang Dynasty talented woman, also appeared more real with the disclosure of the epitaph. In January 2015, according to the Shaanxi Provincial Archaeological Research Institute, the latest progress in the epitaph research work of Shangguan Waner: a total of 982 words, including descent, experience, cause of death, burial place and other information. There are no traces of coffin in the tomb.

Shangguan Waner is a famous female official in Wuzhou period, known as "Prime Minister of the towel". Shangguan Waner's tomb is not far from Xianyang Airport, and was accidentally discovered during construction on the construction site. The tomb is very high in specifications, in a shape of A, with five patios. After rescue excavation, although not many burial items were found in the tomb, but a tombstone with great cultural relics was found. The monuments contained more than 1,000 texts, which described the legendary life of Shangguan Waner and some major historical events at that time. Today, Shangguan Waner's tomb has been transformed into a cultural park, located in the middle of the road.

Not far from the north west of Xi'an Xianyang Airport. You can walk to the airport departure hall after taking a few bus stops. I don't know what the tomb was like at the time, and whether it was surrounded by the mausoleum of the emperor. But now this is a development zone, surrounded by newly built office buildings, so the greening and environment are very good, quiet. The cemetery has a circle of neatly repaired trees around. There are arc carvings at both ends of the tombway, engraved with the story pattern and text of Guan Waner's life. The tomb path has been backfilled, grass planted on it, and beautiful wild flowers are also blooming. The outline of the tomb path when excavation is made out of stones on the grass, marking the direction and the location of the tomb chamber, patio and so on. There are also unearthed epitaphs and photos of archaeological excavations next to the tomb path. This cemetery feels like a street park for rest, the plants are well repaired, and very quiet, walking or exercising in it is very good.

Shangguan Waner Tomb: Located in the middle of Zhaorong Street not far from the west side of Xi'an Xianyang Airport, close to the Free Trade Avenue. The tomb was found in the road construction, it sits north and south, the specifications are quite high, composed of tomb path, patio, passage, grave room, etc. At present, the tomb path, grave room, etc. have not been retained, the original site of the tomb has been converted into a historical and cultural park, known as Tang Zhaorong Shangguan Park. The park is small and small.

After the rescue excavation of experts from the Shaanxi Provincial Archaeological Academy, through the display of an epitaph in the tomb room, this is the famous Shangguan Waner Tomb of the Tang Dynasty. The only flaw is that the tomb was destroyed in the late Tang Dynasty. Apart from the epitaphs, there are basically no cultural relics in the tomb room. Now the excavated site has been fully backfilled to protect it, the ground has been greened, and the relevant publicity has been arranged, like the street park. It’s good to take a walk and see.
