Meet WEIRA team

Our team began with just Irina and Marina.

We share a lot in common: relocating to the U.S. in 2017 and obtaining our naturalized citizenship in 2022. Furthermore, we have both harbored a deep desire to assist people. Our paths crossed at the Women's Networking Meeting hosted by Irina. Both of us have always felt a strong calling to help women in need. This marked the beginning of our friendship and collaboration.

Today, we find ourselves at a point where our shared aspiration has transformed into a tangible reality with the establishment of our organization – WEIRA, Inc.

Irina Popova

CEO

My name is Irina Popova, born and raised in Russia. I moved to the USA in 2017.

My most rewarding experience has been the foundation of California Women’s Networking Club. It’s an inclusive support group for women who recently immigrated to the United States and are trying to assimilate and integrate into their new community. I have organized networking events and educational workshops for our members for about 5 years now.

In 2022, I received the Domestic Violence Advocate Certificate.

I have a passion for helping people, especially in the vulnerable immigrant communities, which is why I founded WEIRA Inc.

Marina Antonova

COO

My name is Marina, and I was born and raised in Russia. I obtained a degree in Clinical Psychology there and dedicated my career to assisting women and their children during times of crisis.

In 2016, my family and I made the life-changing decision to relocate to the United States. Initially, the transition was challenging, but as time passed, we established new friendships and a solid support system. As my confidence in my English language skills grew, I felt the desire for professional development. I underwent a degree evaluation and secured a position as a Domestic Violence Counselor and Advocate.

With over 8 years of experience aiding women in crisis, I am now eager to establish a new, secure space where all women can find support and access the assistance they require in a single location. WEIRA is playing a pivotal role in helping me achieve this aspiration!

We are thrilled to announce that we have now welcomed more volunteers to support WEIRA, Inc.

Here's a breakdown of our dedicated teams:

Emotional and Psychological Support Team

is composed entirely of volunteers with backgrounds in the psychology field. Some of them are Russian-speaking immigrants who have transitioned into crisis support counselors and coaches, and they are actively working towards obtaining licenses in therapy

The Legal Team

offers individual sessions with our clients, specializing in family law and immigration matters

Professional Mentoring Team

provides guidance in various fields and offers free sessions with HR professionals and career coaching

assist in organizing captivating and entertaining events
