Surf the Web and Make Phone Calls
Over the Internet With One Device
FRITZ!Box Fon combines an ADSL modem and a
PBX system for analog extension phones in one
device. The ADSL modem with VoIP (Voice over IP)
technology can be used both for Internet telephony
and for web surfing, e-mail, and chats—from one
or more PCs. The PCs can be connected to a LAN
port or to a USB interface. FRITZ!Box Fon also
connects to ISDN or an analog telephone line for
incoming and outgoing phone calls.
Internet Telephony Without a
Computer
FRITZ!Box Fon makes Internet telephony as easy
as a phone call should be. After registration with
an Internet telephony provider, the connected
phones can be used for incoming and outgoing
calls with all the convenience you are used to.
Moreover, FRITZ!Box Fon provides the features
of a conventional PBX system, including Caller ID,
call forwarding and three-party calls. At the same
time, you can continue receiving calls at your
present phone number thanks to FRITZ!Box Fon's
connection to the telephone line.
Convenient and Secure ADSL Router
FRITZ!Box Fon connects one or more computers to
the ADSL line—simply and securely, through a USB
or LAN cable. The built-in firewall adds security
to high-speed surfing. FRITZ!Box Fon works either
as an ADSL modem, allowing you to surf the
Web from several computers simultaneously.
Its built-in firewall capabilities protect all PCs
against unauthorized access from the Internet,
and FRITZ!webProtect reliably prevents unwanted
Internet use. Other network devices can also be
connected to FRITZ!Box Fon including game
consoles, access points, network switches, or an
IP telephone. The Ethernet and USB interfaces
can be used to connect individual PCs and whole
networks to the ADSL line. The router supports
Smart Bandwidth Management for
Quality of Service and Performance
FRITZ!Box Fon provides optimum quality of service
and performance through integrated bandwidth
management. This advanced router function monitors
incoming and outgoing data traffic over the
ADSL line and ensures that telephone communication
over the Internet is not impeded by simultaneous
web surfing. All uploads and downloads
are adjusted to the remaining available bandwidth.
In this way, multiple Internet phone calls
can be conducted simultaneously without any
interference.
