Abstract

The invention relates to a fuel indicator, in particular for motor vehicles, with a pointer (2) which as main pointer indicates the amount of fuel contained in the fuel tank by means of a specific deflection angle of the pointer. According to the invention in addition to this main pointer (2), a second pointer (2) is provided as reserve fuel pointer for the amount of reserve fuel present. Nach weiterem Füllen des Kraftstofftanks bewegt sich der Hauptzeiger (2) nach rechts, bis er in der Endposition neben dem Reservezei­ ger zu stehen kommt. Durch Entnahme von Kraftstoff durch den Motor bewegt sich der Hauptzeiger (2) nach links, wie heute üblich. Nachdem dieser Zeiger bei weiterer Kraftstoffentnahme die linke Endposition erreicht hat (Fig. 3), fängt der Reser­ vezeiger (1) an, die vorgesehene Menge über den gesamten Be­ reich anzuzeigen (Fig. 3).As long as the fuel tank is empty, both pointers ( 1 , 2 ) are on the left side of the scale ( Fig. 1).
