Abstract
Methods and systems are provided for wireless communications using base stations (210_1, 210_2) interconnected by a packet network (1440). A base station (210_2) receives communications from a wireless device (1420_1) in a first cell served by the base station (210_1). The wireless device (1420) may be handed off from the first base station (210_1) to a second base station (210_2) by a two way exchange of information between the first base station (210_1) and a second base station (210_2) through the packet network (1440).
