"The John Deere company began introducing the 10 Series in 1960. The 8010 was the flagship of this series. Equipped with a 6-cylinder Detroit Diesel engine of 160 KW in combination with a 9-speed transmission, it was JD's first articulated tractor. Due to problems with the transmission, all 100 tractors built were brought back to the Waterloo plant and rebuilt into the new Type 8020. A single example of the 8010 survives to this day.".
