The bottle works pretty good. I had a similar version several years ago but the dog chewed the lid up so I needed a new one. The older version was a bit bigger so that was a bummer when I got the new one. But I do really like how the lid comes apart for cleaning. Also the dirt cover is great. I work in a factory so this is easy to have on the line and the cover keeps the spout clean. The only major downside is that it leaks around the lid. I've check and the lid seems to be screwed on properly, and I've only handwashed it so I know that it didn't warp in the dishwasher. I don't recall having this issue with the older model I had so I'm not sure what the problem is. If it didn't leak and was slightly bigger this bottle would be perfect.

This bottle is the best I can find, so I came back to buy more. It does not leak, and that is it's best trait. However, it needs a better cap. I ride for hours in the summer, so I need to drink lots of electrolytes. This requires that I take the lid apart and clean the parts regularly. The cap is difficult to clean, and prone to mold build up. Because of the poor cap design, I am constantly buying more bottles. I would gladly pay more for a better cap made from stainless that lasts longer & is easier to clean. A lifetime lid that is rebuildable and does not have that awful check valve that gets moldy.

I'm happy not to drink muddy water with cow poop from riding in the backcountry. Great quality, as usual, from Camelbak. It is slightly thinner than other Camelbak bottles, but they fit perfectly in my endurance bike holders. However, depending on the holder, it fits a little loose in the MTB bike holder. Overall, it's an appropriate size. And, yes, insulation works great.
