Love the size, the wide mouth, keeps food hot especially if you put hot water in it before you put food in. I live in frigid temps. The slot for the spork holds a big soup spoon nicely, perfect for my purposes. If you put hot food in and tighten the lid, in an hour, it may have vacumn sucked itself closed very tight. I find the outside of the lid too smooth, with nothing to grip your hand, making it extremely hard for me to open sometimes. Thats when I discovered the very top pops off and there is a space for salt and pepper packages, or ketchup, etc. Nice little bonus , but the lid is barely on, pops off easily and ultimately I lost it, as I am active and use this almost daily. I wish there were some knobs, or something for a smaller hand to get a grip on so we could turn it when it seals tightly with a bit of vacuum. frustrating when it happens, yet I want to make it tight because I am putting in my car when I leave for work in the morning....

I live outdoors as much as I can & when I'm going out on a long days hike, or out hunting or fishing, I can easily fill this up with soup, chilly or stew to warm me up & keep me going till dark. While I seem to use it more for hot foods I have used it to keep cold foods also. Either way hot or cold it seems to work fine in the most extreme temps for 10 - 12 hrs. Another plus is that they are built to last. I had my last one for many years & still would but I lent it to a close friend who cant seem to find/part with it again. At 72 this one should last me a lifetime cause nobody will ever barrow it from me again.

I am a truck driver who likes to take his lunch with him instead of paying for lunch everyday. I researched for hours on which food jar to get. This was by far the best for my needs and got very good reviews. I have been using now for two weeks and am extremely satisfied. I fill it with soup at 6am and when I go to eat it around 1:30pm it is still hot. I couldn't be more happy with it. And Stanley stands by their product, so if anything ever go's wrong they will replace it. I highly recommend it.

Am very pleased with this product. After being carried on a 40-minute walk in Winnipeg's winter, the exterior of the jar is frigid, and the hot cereal inside is still too hot to eat! After another couple of hours (indoors), the cereal is still piping hot. As with all such products, be sure to pre-heat it by filling with hot or boiling water and letting it sit with the lid on before use.
