Paul Smith Stripe Scape

We were approached by Paul Smith to produce an ‘interior space’ installation piece for an exhibition/fashion show in Bangkok. The theme of the installation given to us was : ‘Inspired by Paul Smith’.

The only thing that we knew, at the time, about Paul Smith is that the company’s logo was composed of stripes, or rather a variation of stripes that could be infinitely reconfigured. Our installation looks to produce infinite variations of prototypical interior spaces through the deformation of a ‘dumb’ box (similar dimensions to a shipping container) with the aim of producing infinite variations not only of two dimensional stripe patterns, but also of interior topographies, that could then be validated by their functional performance(s).
