David Tudor exhibition

Tudor Instruments

David Tudor was a pioneer in the development of home-made electronic instruments.  A self-taught inventor, from the early 1960‘s he created over 100 electronic instruments over his career.  The exhibition will display a number of these boxes along with an interactive exhibit that will allow visitors to interact with simulated instruments giving them a sense of the sonic range that the instruments are capable of producing.

Michael Johnsen and You Nakai have been researching Tudor’s instruments at the David Tudor Instrument collection at Wesleyan University, and have made significant progress in identifying their functionality, circuitry, and recently started working on interconnecting some of the functional devices.
