Amangiri is the perfect romantic getaway for couples and anybody with looking to spoil themselves with a private and peaceful retreat. The architecture and landscape are breathtaking and the night sky makes you feel connected to nature in a magical way. The staff made us felt welcome since the very start and every experience felt personalized and taken care with extreme attention to detail. The food was great every time and we would come back just for the ceviche itself. The hikes, the water pavilion and the spa are a must do. The staff at Amangiri really set the bar on what a 5 star resort customer service should be like. My fiancé and I felt in love with Amangiri and will definitely revisit. We are now big fans of the AMAN brand and are very exited for what the next properties have to offer.

Special thanks to the Front Desk Staff, Marques, Kaileigh and Nagi for making our stay so memorable and unique.

Once you get past the front gate the awe of the location begins to reveal itself, ever building, until the resort itself appears. The service, food, accommodations and setting are second to none. It is crazy expensive and it is worth every penny. A special shout out to the GM that more than exceeded our expectations when an unusual issue came up. The freely available fleet of BMWs let you explore the Canyons and the “Bend” by yourself or go with one of their amazing guides. Find the time/money and find out how much you actually get for your $$$, it’s worth it.

Spectacular! The pool is just as fabulous as the pictures. The food is great. Definitely recommend evening massages at the spa, the curated evening private horseback ride and outdoor BBQ. My only complaint is that the bathrooms in the rooms are open / not much privacy. Also don’t order room service - $50 for coffee & a bagel - whereas it’s comp if you eat in the main dining area. Wouldn’t recommend it for young kids but our (grown kids) family REALLY enjoyed it. I’ve been to Aman Wyoming and Aman Tokyo and this one was #1 after Tokyo!

We’ve visited Amangiri several times during the last 6 years, prices keep going up. But the hotel is distinctly on the way down. The food has become bland and the ingredients appeared much less attractive to us. Having to call to get the room made up, rather than this being done while one is at breakfast or hiking, is, at this price level, not really what one expects.

Outside there are now some 15 BMW’s and other large vehicles parked. Like a car dealership they turn on all the car lights at night, really, claiming to be in a National Park.

This was our last visit probably.

I’ll start with the good: the hotel is spectacularly designed, you really are in the middle of nowhere, and the service is generally impeccable. As in, none of that formal check-in crap, the bellhops whilst they’ve had your car will vacuum it for you, etc. The room was stunning, the gym and spa were great and the pool was perfect.

BUT: I’m an international visitor, and we all need COVID tests within a 3 day window of our return flight in order to return home. So I asked the “guest experience coordinator” for help with this the minute we checked in: Where locally/in Flagstaff/in Sedona/etc could I get a 24 hour return COVID test? We saw him a couple more times that day and he made a point that he was “still working on it”.

But he completely dropped the ball. I never got any answer, nor did he leave any notes for his colleagues and upon checkout, the answer that we spent an hour frantically googling and working with the woman on the front desk at that time was actually: “You have to go to CVS or Walgreens and they take 48 hours so you actually needed a reservation for today which we could have made yesterday but we didn’t know that and now there aren’t any options left so now you just have to miss your flight home.”

It was literally the only thing I asked of the concierge, and that whole “please can you help me ensure I can fly to my home country?” thing is pretty fundamental. Aman is such an international chain and they need to get this sorted out ASAP as the world reopens and their international travellers return. I guess I was the guinea pig. Or at least I hope nobody else has to deal with this.

Oh and I had to send my filet mignon back as it had been Chernobyled despite ordered rare and I caught a 24 hour stomach bug from the ceviche at lunch but I blame myself for eating raw seafood in the middle of the desert rather than the hotel for those things.

In short: wonderful hotel but at this price point (I paid $4,200 a night for our stay) I expect concierge competence. Sorry Amangiri, you get 4 out of 5.

Dear christophergX1149ZO, Thank you once again for your visit and for taking the time to share your comments with us. I am delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit but regret to read about the fact that we were so ill prepared at communicating the test capabilities in our communities. This is evidently not the first time it comes up but clearly we were not able to convey the specifics of testing availability nearby, which I apologies for. We will be sure to review this competency, and others, with the team, so we may prevent this from happening again. Thank you again, Julien Surget

I visited Amangiri about two years ago, and I finally had the opportunity to travel back this year. I am saddened to say how disappointed I was this time around.
The food definitely changed, the service was definitely not as good, and the overall feeling at the resort was just at a low. I am beyond shocked.
Paying over $2,000 a night, how dare they take away the full lunch menu and replace it with a sad 3 dish buffet.

Halfway through my trip, I turned to my partner and said "This will be the last time". For the amount of money you are paying here everything should be spectacular and its sad when its not.

Also, Amangiri has now become a resort for groups of photographers sitting around or celebrity entourages crowding up the restaurant and lobby area. Not for me.

Never did we believe our travels would still be impacted. Thus trying to stay in the United States for holidays, we finally selected Amangiri. The thought of taking holiday in Utah may sound odd at first, this experience will explode all expectations of a resort and luxury. The staff were lovely and all gifts were thoughtfully Covid planned with food cleanly packaged or non-consumable items as alternatives. Pricey but worth it all. Couples trip was perfect

We’ve been wanting to come here for years as we are fans of Aman hotels. Our experience was nothing short of spectacular and exceeded our expectations. The architecture and design is out of this world and attention to detail is truly unique. Service, as expected, was perfect. The location can’t be beat.

There are two things that I believe can be improved upon:

1/ Even though we enjoyed most of the food very much, there’re couple of items in the menu that weren’t so great: the foie gras and the lobster cacio e pepe for instance. Breakfast was the best, specially the Benedict eggs and pancakes.

2/ The found the activities completely overpriced. We wish we could’ve enjoyed some of the activities to complement our wonderful stay but they were ridiculously expensive. The read some reviews about the staff being pushy about treatments and activities but this wasn’t the case.

We’re definitely coming back to Amangiri!

Amangiri is a private luxury resort with exceptional service in the high desert. Yes, the landscape is what all Instagramers take, but they don’t tell you to prepare for the desert environment. That means it is super dry here! I was slightly prepared for this, especially living in the Phoenix area. But the dryness is elevated. With that said, bring extra moisturizing skincare products (I wished I got more), eye drops, nose spray, sunscreen, and allergy medicine (windy and dusty at times). Travel humidifiers may help or fill the hot tub with water. Speaking of the weather, dress accordingly! Amangiri’s forte is the outdoors. Put away the 4-inch heels, mini skirt, or leather pants. - saw all three at the central hotel. It is laughable to see when you did not do your homework. Unless you will be here specifically for pictures or otherwise, keep the city clothes at home. Do bring hiking/athleisure apparel: hiking boots, sneakers, or trail shoes. Take advantage of the activities that Amangiri offers. The family and I went horseback riding - ask for McCoy. She has been riding since she was little and was an excellent guide. We also did the hike to Via Ferrata, and it was beyond memorable and highly recommended. Ask for Maiah (spell). He is knowledgeable, passionate about flora and fauna and the environment. We all felt safe with his clear instructions and motivated us along the way. Lastly, as you navigate yourself throughout the hotel and the camp, eat some excellent food, the people of Amangiri’s outstanding service make this place even more special. Please say hello to Shelby at the hotel's dining area, Max at Camp Sarika’s restaurant, and of course, Macy, an experienced advisor. Enjoy this resort. Our family sure did.

My wife's birthday and our anniversary brought us to Amangiri. We had a wonderful time. The quality of the rooms, amenities, meals, service, spa, and staff were all excellent. There are no luxury hotels in US that offer a better experience than Amangiri. Many well-known hotels are not even comparable. I had some doubts before visiting. Because the luxury hospitality industry in the US tends to not offer you what you pay for when compared to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Amangiri brought the typical Aman experience to the US, something I didn't think was possible. We will definitely visit again.

Nothing was included in the nightly fee. There was one hour-long nature presentation which illustrated local snakes, scorpions and spiders. Some of the listed activities for purchase were not available.
