Glen Rubsamen

The work of Glen Rubsamen (Los Angeles, California, EEUU, 1959) focuses on documentation and collection of different times of the day, such as sunrise or sunset.

Rubsamen’s paintings attempt to reflect on the idea of “post-nature”, by capturing snapshots of transient memory. His works, mainly paintings, drawings, prints and videos, frame different scenarios that generate a quiet and peaceful atmosphere by avoiding any connection with human beings or the world of objects. This atmosphere is totally disconnected from any reference to space-time, where the viewer enters, disoriented, to participate in a static action in which nature becomes artificial.

His work forms part of museums and public collections such as British Airways Collection (London, United Kingdom), Peter Stuyvesant Collection (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and National Taiwan Museum (Taipei, China).
