About

With over 15 years of experience as a contemporary artist, I've honed a unique creative process that fuses deconstruction, replication, and transformation across various media and object forms. My work is grounded in an exploration of the interplay between space and human conditions in our ever-challenging world. I aim to create thought-provoking works that question established cultural, socio-economic systems, and entrenched ideologies.

Beyond my artistic practice, I've been involved in teaching and curating projects aligned with my expertise. During my seven-year tenure as a sessional faculty member at Emily Carr University, I contributed to the development of the Master of Applied Arts program and guided students in their thesis projects. Additionally, I curated the Canadian debut exhibition of the artists collective Slavs and Tatars at Presentation House Gallery, exploring the connections between Poland and Iran that are often overlooked.

In 2021, together with my with fellow artist Ali Ahadi, I formed the artist duo Alibaba Conundrum, embarking on a research journey during a residency at Griffin Art Projects in North Vancouver. This culminated in our inaugural exhibition, "Alibaba Conundrum" in 2023. In 2022, I was selected as one of three artists for the Jameel Fellowship at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, conducting research from their collection.

My work centers on exploring new perspectives and pushing boundaries in the art world, while amplifying diverse and critical voices.
