Following a 5-0 forfeit defeat of the Penn State “B” team in the No. 3 seed Nittany Lions’ opening game of the weekend, the junior went to work by putting away eight goals with four in the first quarter and pairs in the second and third quarters as Penn State “A” overwhelmed No. 2 seed Carnegie Mellon University by a 15-8 score.

On Sunday, October 29, McLaughlin was a one-man wrecking crew for Penn State as he put away three, one, one and two goals in the first, second, third and fourth quarters, respectively, to account for seven scores as the Nittany Lions survived to roar past the host/No. 1 seed Wildcats by a 15-13 score.  Courtesy the victory, Penn State “A” claimed the Mid-Atlantic Division Championship and a berth to the 2023 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship.
