Giants activate Shaun Draughn, J.T. Thomas off PUP, sign Steven Daniels

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo recently indicated that linebacker J.T. Thomas and running back Shaun Draughn were nearing their return, and on Tuesday, that became official.

Just prior to the start of practice, the Giants announced that both Thomas and Draughn had been activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Draughn started training camp on the PUP list after undergoing offseason ankle surgery, while Thomas was still working his way back from a torn ACL.

Daniels, a seventh-round pick of the Washington Redskins in the 2016 NFL Draft, missed his rookie season after suffering a torn torn labrum in training camp. He was then waived in May, signed by the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year and then released again late last week.

Draughn now has a chance to catch up and join the battle at running back, while Thomas and Daniels add more depth at linebacker for the Giants.

Following the moves, the Giants now have a full 90-man roster.
