Mr. Yang joined JT&N as a partner in July 2017. He is a specialist in Intellectual Property (IP) law, civil and commercial law, and litigation and arbitration. Previously, he had worked on the bench in the Intellectual Property Office in Beijing No.1 Intermediate People’s Court and been employed as an in-house counsel in the legal department of Sogou Company for years. Because of his insight of judicial adjudication standards in China gained from the above experiences, especially the IP-related judicial policies and internal regulations, he is a seasoned litigator and tactician who is capable of providing comprehensive legal services for companies in the high-technology, information technology and media and entertainment industries.

Intellectual Property Law
During the time when he was on the bench, Mr. Yang had heard and judged over a thousand IP-related cases, concerning the authorization and determination of patent rights, patent right infringements, the authorization and determination of trade mark rights, trade mark right infringements, copyright infringements, franchising, technical contracts and unfair competition, including a large number of influential landmark cases in the IP area.

Entertainment and New Media
During his employment in the big internet company, Mr. Yang routinely advised on the compliance of novel products and new business models with the relevant law. Furthermore, he also provided legal advice on numbers of cases regarding patent infringements, bidding ranks and unfair competition, and thereby developed an in-depth understanding and a heightened awareness of the legal needs of technology industries.

Commercial Law and Labor Disputes
In his capacity as a judge and an in-house counsel, Mr. Yang consistently advised and acted for contractual and labor disputes, and is therefore experienced in both advisory and litigation work in these areas.
