Rafael has 10 years of experience growing climate startups and social impact ventures.

He co-founded Cultivo, where he leads NbS project origination efforts and manages key commercial relations. Before that, Rafael co-founded One Chance Foods, an alternative protein company. Rafael worked as a Consultant at the World Bank (Washington, D.C.) and as an impact investing professional at New Ventures Group and VIWALA (Mexico City). Rafael has industry experience in financial services, technology, nature-based solutions and carbon markets.

Rafael holds a Masters Degree in Climate Change, Management and Finance from Imperial College Business School (UK) and a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Colorado College (USA).

He is an active member of the Global Shapers Community by the World Economic Forum, the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, the Chevening Alumni network and the United World College Alumni Association (UWC SEA 09).
