On her debut „blues“ Tintin Patrone addresses the emotional value found in the aesthetic relationship between animal signals and musical tonality. Human concepts such as sadness, yearning and nostalgia are often likened to complex animal-made sounds like those of the singing huskies recorded by Oswald Wiener or the Thai Elephant Orchestra. Playing and looping the trombone as her main instrument, she explores spatial resonance and tonal interference, layered drones and vivid modulation, seeking to re-calibrate the listener’s perception of natural sound.
