CHILDHOOD

Makoto is the result of a simple whim: her biological mother Rei wanted a child just to prove to everyone that she was winning and successful woman who had everything. Once Makoto was born, Rei did not want to be involved in any way with the baby and completely ignoring the needs of her newborn, she returned to work rarely beeing at home.
It was his father Hiiro and his cousin Naomi who took care of Mako and the promising young actress despite her commitments made sure to be that mother figure that Makoto needed so badly.
Having lost the parents during the Zero Reverse Hiiro, terrifired by the thought to lose her daughter too while he is away, took the habit to bring the child to his workshop or on the circuits. To his delight he noticed that Makoto showed a great interest in cars and in the racing world. Naomi on the other end taught her  how to play Duel Monsters ( ashe learned how to duel and to took care of plants.
Rei did not approve of any of this, she did not see her daughter as a person but only something to be shaped in her image and likeness so that one day Makoto will collect her inheritance and take over the Murakami family's patrimony. She criticized and treated the little girl harshly enough to make her cry every time, showing no compasson or remorse for her behaviour. This was the last straw for Hiiro and Naomi and after a violent quarrel, Rei decided to cut every ties with Hiiro and his family and leaving Makoto who was 5 years old at the time.
Once Rei left, the situation at home improved considerably, Hiiro and Naomi did everything in their power to make her happy and support her in her passions. However they were worried about the child's lack of friends and how she, while being extremly respectful and polite towards others, felt no desire in making friendships.

TEENAGER YEARS

As the years pass by her small family became wealthy enough to own more than one workshop in Neo Domino thanks to his father's hard work. Makoto started to compete in various car races  and winning most of them.
She has matured a lot in these yearsand she is well liked by her team and peers but none of them could get closer to the purple haired girl, because unfortunatly Makoto still refuses to open up to others, afraid to be treated the same way her mother did.
Hiiro is worried about her lack of social intercations besides him and Naomi so he decided with the approval of both Rua and Rukas parents (loyal customers and family friends) to entrust Mako with the task of babysitting the twins, hoping to see the car racer finally opeing uo to someone. Much to joy of the man, she becomes very fond of the twins and the latter see her as a sweet and caring older sister. Makoto immediately notices the talent of the twins in playing Duel Monster and even helped them build their ideal Decks. It was during a duel between her and Ruka that the little girl felt into coma causing great feelings of guilt in the purple haired girl. During the entire month that Ruka is in a coma, Makoto didn't leave their houses taking care of Rua and vowing to herself that she would protect the twins from any threat even at the cost of her life. During a Duel Monster charity tournament she meets Jack Atlas for the first time and there is no love lost between the two: the blonde arrogance got to Makotos nerves immeditiatly and the tension between them erupted in full force when they faced off in the final match in an amazing duel. Makoto didn't win in the end and before she could say or do something towards the bragging blonde, shedecided to leave the stadium.  On her way home, while stopping in her favourite pastry shop to buy some chocolate cake, she is approcead by a boy of her same age: Yuuto, a promising driver just like her. Makoto didn't feel like chatting, expecially after a defeat, but she felt that with Yuuto, with his gentle eyes and relaxed attitude, she could open up and try to trust.
Yuuto was able to break through the walls she built around her becoming her first friend, over time both begin to have feelings for each other that go far beyond friendship. They will be together for about two years and they will break up because the love they felt has turned into brotherly love. Thanks to Yuuto, Makoto has become more approachable and open in trusting others.

PRESENT DAY/ YUGIOH 5ds timeline

Makoto is now 18 years old. Her career as a professional car racing driver is taking off and she is considered as strongest young driver in recent years. She started to work for the Kaiba Cotrporation where she tests out all new DWheel components.
Makoto is also the testimonial for her many sponsors and she makes lot of photoshoots for them
She attends the Duel Academy but given her numerous commitments, she is often absent but despite this, her grades are always excellent.
Her relationship with Yuuto is more than fine, even if they broke up. Makoto regards him as a brother.
Despite her full schedule Makoto tries in every way to spend every free moment with her family, with Yuuto and with Rua&Ruka and the 3 of them often do sleepovers for the twins immense joy.

Makoto is happy with her life, but everything changes when she first meets a certain dark blue-eyed boy with crab-shaped hair with no memory who is currently living in the twins' house...
