WE WON’T MOVE

Solo Show

by E. B. Itso

November 4 - November 20, 2021

We Won’t Move is a solo show by artist E.B. Itso, which takes place in Bladr at Nørrebro and Vennepunkt at Østerbro. The exhibitions are linked together by posters placed in the urban space between the two city districts. In this way, you can let the posters guide you from one place to the other by exploring the cityscape.

E.B. Itso shows both new and older works, all based on circumstances where a social group encounters resistance or structural abuse. The works point to specific events or conditions in order to give a sort-of-voice to those who are oppressed or overlooked.

The works in the show touch upon, among other things, systematic torture in Belarus, Chinese Nail Houses (a term used for old houses on construction sites all the while Chinese megacities shoot up around them), while we are also taken back to the BZ movement of the 1980s.

E.B. Itso graduated from Malmö Art Academy in 2014 and is interested in that which exists outside of our concept of normality and what might be considered socially appropriate behavior. In addition to interventions in the public space, E.B Itso has shown work in institutions in Denmark, Europe and around the world.

Throughout the duration of the exhibition, E.B. Itso is working on a new publication, which will be launched after the closing of the show.
