hEAR TOuch LISTEN – a participative sound-space trilogy
As any material, no matter if solid, liquid or gas, is based on sequencing molecular movements and vibrations, and as any sequencing movement and vibration basically is sound, one might draw the conclusion, that the world itself is constructed from sound. In the very large scale of planets rotating around suns and galaxies spinning around black holes you also find constant rhythmic movements and sequences. Somewhere in between is the human scale with our ability to form and deform matter and to create architectural structures. Also on this level there is sound embodied in everything, as every structure has its natural resonance and frequencies. The aim of our architectural –musical experiment “hEAR TOuch LISTEN” is to bring the sounds that lie within architectural structures to life and make them perceptible for an audience. The experiment is in situ created and replayed with the natural resonance of parts of the building construction in the lobby of the bass concert hall. The audience takes an active part in the performance and experiences the different aspects of perceiving sound.
