His twin brother, Colin Farrell Also died of brain cancer.

James D. "Seamus" Farrell, 11, died of a brain tumor Sept. 26 at home surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service was held in the gym at Ravenwood Elementary School in Eagle River with David Bleivik of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Seamus was born Aug. 25, 1982, in Anchorage. Family and friends said, "Seamus loved life and loved adventure. He had a wonderful sense of humor that he never lost. Seamus loved to read and to draw. But, the most important thing to Seamus was his friends. He touched everyone he met and taught us what it meant to be a friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was an enthusiastic fifth-grader."

Seamus is survived by his parents, James and Susan of Eagle River; brothers, Joseph Adami, Jesse, and his twin brother, Colin; maternal grandmother, Klara Gayan Farrell of New Rochelle, N.Y.; maternal great- grandmother, Anna Gayan of Carlstadt, N.J.; and many other relatives throughout Alaska and the Lower 48. Memorial donations may be sent to Providence Hospital Home Health Care, Pediatric Unit, 3200 Providence Drive, Anchorage 99508. Arrangements are being handled by Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Bragaw Chapel.
