Doctor Who thing: creative cosplay

My pal Bonnie — aka bronxbee in comments here — attended New York Comic-Con weekend before last and took a ton of photos. Here I’m sharing some of the Doctor Who-related ones. And I’m bringing in some photos by my brother, Ken Johanson — aka geekaremypeeps in comments — who was also present over the convention weekend.

Today, clever cosplayers (not that they aren’t all clever). Of this fellow, Bonnie says:

a fellow in a #6 coat warning us all about the Silence. he told me he had ordered the coat handmade from an Etsy crafts person and it had only arrived the day before.

And this one was

the only obvious Donna i saw all day…

A steampunk TARDIS:

Of her, Ken says there was an “amazing amount of detail; zoom in and check the lapels.” So here they are:

Also note her stockings and the beautiful starfield fabric:

I am consistently impressed by the costumes people come up with. Aside from these pictures (which I have been enjoying a lot), my office is along the route for people getting to the convention center and I (unfortunately) had to be in the office a bit that weekend. Saw quite a few on their way to and from. Serious kudos to all the creative people!

It was a lot of fun seeing the reactions from people in Times Square:

there are multitudes of DW shirts now. i think maryann posted one or two shots of the vendors who practically specialised in DW-wear. check online, you’ll have no trouble finding one.
