    Dana Louise Priest (born May 23, 1957) is an American journalist, writer and teacher. She has worked for nearly 30 years for the Washington Post and became the third John S. and James L. Knight Chair in Public Affairs Journalism at the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism in 2014. Before becoming a full-time investigative reporter at the Post, Priest specialized in intelligence reporting and wrote many articles on the U.S. "War on terror" and was the newspaper's Pentagon correspondent. In 2006 she won the Pulitzer Prize for Beat Reporting citing "her persistent, painstaking reports on secret "black site" prisons and other controversial features of the government's counter-terrorism campaign." The Washington Post won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, citing the work of reporters Priest and Anne Hull and photographer Michel du Cille "exposing mistreatment of wounded veterans at Walter Reed Hospital, evoking a national outcry and producing reforms by federal officials."In February 2006, Priest was awarded the George Polk Award for National Reporting for her November 2005 article on secret CIA detention facilities in foreign countries. Priest also revealed the existence of the Counterterrorist Intelligence Centers (CTIC) in a November 17, 2005, front page article, which are counter-terrorist operations centers run jointly by the CIA and foreign intelligence services. The Alliance Base in Paris, involving the DGSE and other foreign intelligence agencies, is one of the most important CTIC.

  • Clinton Merrick Hurdle (born July 30, 1957) is an American former professional baseball outfielder and current manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball. Hurdle played in MLB for the Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, and St. Louis Cardinals, and has also managed for the Colorado Rockies. Labeled a "phenom" by Sports Illustrated at age twenty, Hurdle played 515 games at the major league level. After retiring from playing baseball, Hurdle became a manager. His eight seasons with the Colorado Rockies included leading the 2007 club to the franchise's first National League (NL) pennant. On November 14, 2010, the Pirates hired him to be their manager. In 2013, Hurdle led them to their first winning season and playoff appearance since 1992. He was named the NL Manager of the Year that season.

  • David Ivon Gower OBE (born 1 April 1957) is an English cricket commentator and former cricketer who was captain of the England cricket team during the 1980s. Described as one of the most stylish left-handed batsmen of his era, Gower played 117 Test matches and 114 One Day Internationals (ODI) scoring 8,231 and 3170 runs, respectively. He was one of the most capped and high scoring players for England during his period. Gower led England during the 1985 Ashes, and his team was victorious; however, two 5–0 whitewashes against the West Indies (in 1984 and 1985–86) reflected poorly on his captaincy, and Gower was replaced in 1986. He was briefly reinstated for the 1989 Ashes series, before being replaced as captain by Graham Gooch. The strained relationship between the pair contributed to Gower retiring from international cricket in 1993. Nevertheless, he ended with an impressive record in first-class cricket, accumulating 26,339 runs at an average of 40.08, and 53 centuries. As of February 2013, he holds the record of 119 consecutive innings without registering a duck in Test cricket. Following his retirement, Gower became a successful cricket commentator with Sky Sports, and on 16 July 2009 he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.On the occasion of England's 1000th Test in August 2018, he was named in the country's greatest Test XI by the ECB.

A member of the Democratic Party, he was defeated in his attempt to win an open seat in the 2014 United States Senate election in Iowa.

    Alvaro de Molina (born July 13, 1957) was the chief financial officer of Bank of America Corporation. He had been with the company since joining one of its predecessors in 1989. De Molina graduated in 1975 from Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey, and was inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2012. He then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He obtained an MBA in 1988 from Rutgers Business School. He later attended Duke University's Advanced Management Program.On Dec. 1, 2006, he announced his resignation as CFO of Bank of America, effective at the end of the year. At the time of his resignation he had been finance chief for only 14 months, but had spent 17 years at Bank of America. He ran treasury services and investment banking before becoming chief financial officer in 2005. De Molina joined Cerberus-controlled GMAC in August 2007, becoming chief operating officer. On March 18, 2008, GMAC LLC named de Molina its chief executive officer. On July 9, 2008, The Wall Street Journal reported that de Molina had made it to Wachovia's shortlist of potential CEOs: "Mr. de Molina, 50 years old, is considered an outspoken and bold leader who would shake things up in trying to turn around Wachovia, though he might have difficulty fitting into Wachovia's genteel corporate culture."

    Gary G. Gensler (born October 18, 1957) served as the 11th chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission under President Barack Obama from May 26, 2009, to January 3, 2014. Gensler was the Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance (1999-2001), and the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Markets (1997-1999). Prior to his public service career, Gensler worked at Goldman Sachs, where his last position was that of Co-head of Finance. He was the chief financial officer for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.While serving as chairman of the CFTC, Gensler led the transformation of the $400 trillion over-the-counter derivatives, or swaps, market which failed, while reorganizing the watchdog efforts of the 700-person agency. Gensler led the effort to pass and implement comprehensive oversight of the swaps market, which was at the center of the 2008 financial crisis.

Kędzierzawska graduated from the National Film School in Łódź in 1981 but prior to that had completed a course in cultural studies at the University of Łódź and studied film directing in Moscow for two years. Kędzierzawska is the director of several acclaimed films, such as Crows, Nothing, I Am, and Devils, Devils. In her films she concentrates on the experiences of disadvantaged children who contend with a difficult financial situation, rejection by adults, or both. Her characters are usually women, hopelessly fighting for the love of their men. Her most recent film, Time to Die (Pora Umierać, 2007), is a powerful black-and-white depiction of the daily life of an old woman named Aniela, played by Polish screen and stage legend Danuta Szaflarska. Dittrich unseated incumbent Bill Haas, a Republican, in the 2004 general election. Her margin of victory was 52%-48%. On May 21, 2011, she joined the House Republican Majority in voting for a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between a man and woman.In 2006, Dittrich defeated her Republican challenger, John Tomczak, 54%-46%.   • Christopher Kamara (born 25 December 1957) is an English former professional footballer and football manager who now works as a presenter and football analyst at Sky Sports. As a player, he was known as a tough-tackling midfielder. He joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16, before being signed up to Portsmouth in November 1974. He spent three years at the club before being sold on to Swindon Town for £14,000. He returned to Portsmouth in 1981 for a £50,000 fee, but was traded to Brentford in October 1981. He spent four years with the "Bees" before leaving the club after picking up a runners-up medal in the Football League Trophy in 1985. He re-signed with Swindon Town in August 1985 and helped the club to two successive promotions into the Second Division. He moved on to Stoke City in 1988, and a successful spell with the club won him a move to Leeds United in 1990. He helped the club to the Second Division title in 1989–90, but was never a first team regular before being sold to Luton Town for £150,000 in 1991. He had loan spells with Premier League clubs Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, before joining Sheffield United on a permanent basis in 1993. The following year he joined Bradford City as a player-coach. He was appointed Bradford City manager in November 1995 and took the club from a relegation scrap to promotion out of the Second Division via the play-offs in 1996.
