Actor and producer Les Hill, who had a starring role in the underworld TV series Underbelly, has bought a fixer-upper for $2.2m post-auction in Coogee.
Mr Hill, who played the underworld figure Jason Moran in the 2008 series and was also famous for his famous naked bum shot in the film Flirting, snapped up the three-bedroom freestanding home at 18 Smithfield Ave after viewing it a week after the auction.
It looks like a good buy since the agent, Angus Gorrie of McGrath, sold a semi 2 Smithfield Ave for $2.43m earlier in the year.
Mr Gorrie, who shared this latest listing with his colleague Adrian Bo, had two registered parties at that auction, but it failed to meet the $2.3m reserve.

Both refused to comment about the identity of the purchaser, but other sources said Mr Hill and his girlfriend were definitely set to be moving in.
Although liveable, the pictures indicate Mr Hill is likely to be wanting to do a renovation.
The home, on a 312 sqm block, has good bones with a north-facing back yard.

In a perfect world there’d be an open-plan living space opening to that timber deck.
The home plenty of character, with ornate ceilings and leadlight windows.
The property has off-street parking in a single garage and it’s an easy walk to the beach.
It’s also just a 500m stroll to the cafes and shops of Coogee Bay Road.
