Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember one story that my grandmother told me when I was a kid. It was a story of a small boy who calls out to God (Krishna) when he is in need and gets helped out. This small story has planted the seed of divinity and trust in divine in me.
Stories, images, music, art goes directly into sub-conscious mind and impact in a big way. I think that is the reason why the spiritual truths are told in various stories called Puranas in Hinduism. The stories of Gods and Goddesses may or may not be true, but the moral truths conveyed by them, when told to kids will stay with them their entire life.
How do you approach cover design?
I am not an artist, but I approach the cover design to match what is the content inside. For ex : the cover for Dhyanajyothi is about a meditative person, and behind him is a rising sun of awareness.

Patanjali Yogasutras is a masterpiece on human psychology, a practical guide for all spiritual aspirants, and a map for spiritual journey. This is a spiritual diary. I have recorded my thought process over a period of 4 years since I met my Guru. When I met him in 2009, my mind was noisy, and compared to that, today my mind is extremely peaceful. I attribute that to the way Guruji guided the confused mind out of that state over a period of time, by clarifying the doubts of the intellect.

Yoga jyoti is a simple guide to Patanjali yoga. Spirituality and yoga are inseparable. This book tries to explain the yoga practices and how they are spiritually beneficial. This book describes few yoga asana, pranayama, mudra, kundalini yoga and the notes I have taken from my interactions with Sadguru M. Narasimha Prabhu and my understanding of two chapters of Patanjali Yogasutra.

Absolute masterpiece on enlightenment. Shiva sutras is an ancient treatise of kashmiri shaivism, and nobody could have explained it so succintly if that person has not experienced the Truth firsthand. The simplicity of the explanation, text as well as diagrams, brings the enlightenment into the easy understanding and grasp of the reader. Must read for any person who wants to understand enlightenment, self-realization, nirvana, mukti, jivanmukti, moksha.
