Tim Reinecke's work “Abraum” took place as a barely noticeable intervention in the public space in Heidelberg. This book makes it visible.

Returnable bottles were continuously left in the newly built district of Bahnstadt over a period of six weeks. What is ‘value’ in one of the largest urban development projects in Germany? Does art in public space have ‘surplus value’?

The book includes an image documentation of 139 color photographs. You will be accompanied by a report from Katrin Womelsdorf and a conversation about the volume of art between Wolfgang Ullrich and Tim Reinecke. As a reference to the daily practice of the deposit system, the texts mentioned are added to the book as tokens.
